Some of the most intelligent and most talented people I have met have been homeless and/or substance abusers. If I was a deluded conspiracy theorist, I would think that there was some sort of concerted effort to level the playing field by destroying the best and the brightest. In reviewing the last sixty years, I would probably be able to make a pretty good case for it. An unbiased study that traced the eventual destinations of the smartest grade school students of the past sixty years would reveal some interesting data. I can guarantee it.
